Grace Weekly

  1. YOUR STEP MATTERS
  2. It is time once again to prepare our hearts for the coming season of generosity, which will begin this week. You will be receiving a letter and pledge card in the mail this week, as we look toward not only preparing budgets, but sharing our time, talents, treasure, and truth, together. During worship in the coming weeks, covenant partners will be sharing their stories of faith, allowing us to see how God is moving in the lives of our Grace family. Additionally, on Sunday, please pick up a candle with a prayer prompt to help guide you as you pray and listen for how God is inviting you to respond. Our church family will dedicate our offerings on Sunday, November 9, during worship. We hope you will be there for the celebration!

  3. WOOD MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
  4. A longtime community favorite, The Dolores & Allan Wood Memorial Golf Tournament returns this fall, benefitting Friends of Westchase and ministries of Grace.

With Dolores by his side, Allan Wood spent countless hours over 20 years building this tournament into an opportunity for fellowship and a successful fundraiser. Allan’s hard work generated nearly half a million dollars for student missions during that time. The tournament honors his life and legacy.

  5. SATURDAY SERVE
  6. October 25: Helping Hands for Our Grace Family

Do you have a small project around the house or yard that could use an extra pair of hands? Maybe some light repairs, technology help, moving boxes, or yardwork? Our Saturday Serve team is coming together this October to support covenant partners who may need an extra hand around the house! We have a team eager to help with those "odd jobs" that can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially for our more senior Covenant Partners. Through this ministry, we hope to share Christ's love in practical ways, strengthen relationships across generations, and remind one another that no one in our Grace family is alone. Whether it's helping with lawn work or doing some painting, we are ready to lend a hand. If you have a need or want to help out, please contact Kristy Elmore. Our team will be coming out on Saturday, October 25. Let's come together as a church family to serve one another in love!

    November 8: Open Door Mission

Please join us for a meaningful day of serving! We will meet at Grace and travel to Open Door Mission together (bus transportation is available) to serve, worship, and have fellowship with the men sheltering with Open Door Mission as they begin a new season of life and celebrate sobriety! Open Door Mission is a Christ-centered addiction recovery program and facility helping the homeless in Houston since 1954. They're dedicated to transforming the lives of the most severely addicted, destitute, homeless, and disabled men in our community for free. Please register before November 5 HERE.

THE BIBLE IN A YEAR UPDATES

This past Sunday, Pastor Julia spoke about the times when we are sad or discouraged, and how we are not meant to go through these times alone. Abiding in the Word is important for our hope and inspiration, and that time is made even better by being in community. The Bible in a Year study is a perfect time to gather a couple friends and follow the study, encouraging and uplifting one another--not just with reading assignments, but with life itself! Or consider joining a Sunday morning class--there are classes for age groups as well as intergenerational groups, all reading along with the plan and diving into discussions. The EPIC class at 11 a.m. is also a great place to get plugged in.

HERE you will find a multitude of other resources to help you with the reading plan, including videos, podcasts, and articles to bring greater insight to what you have read. You will also find recaps and summaries of sections for times when you may fall behind. Keep up the good work!

WORSHIP THIS SUNDAY

If you are out of town or unable to be here to worship in-person this week, please join us online via livestream HERE.

The Bible in a Year continues this Sunday. We are basing the sermon series on the passages we are currently reading, this week looking into Deuteronomy 14:22-29. Also on on Sunday, we will celebrate a baptisms, and will begin our annual season of gratitude and giving. We will see you at 9:30!
