WARM UP WESTCHASE

Please join us to help warm up Westchase students this fall. School buses don't pick up children unless they live over two miles from their school campus. Knowing that many of our school-aged children walk to school inspired Warm Up Westchase to provide 300 coats to help warm children attending our partner schools. On October 27, we will carry coats forward and pray over each child and family who will receive coats during a special coat dedication. We will have a table set up in the Welcome Center on Sundays in October and invite you to stop by and sponsor a coat for a student! Please contact Kristy Elmore for further information or if you'd like to help out with logistics.

SECOND SATURDAY SERVE

Please join us on Saturday, October 12, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. to help clean up the courtyard at Walnut Bend Elementary. We will clear out debris and weeds, mulch flower beds, and maybe even plant some fall foliage to bring joy to the campus! The Mentor Up students and some Grace School students will be joining us, so this is a great opportunity to pour into the lives of our neighborhood youth and teach them some valuable life skills!

Second Saturday Serve is a once a month, come-as-you-are, intergenerational short service opportunity in the Welcome Center or out in the community. Join us for an hour or two and make a difference in someone’s life. Watch the Grace homepage and Grace Weekly email for project details each month. WE NEED TRUNKS AND COOKS!

It's that time again! Both Trunk or Treat and the Grace Men's Chili Cook Off are back on Sunday, October 27, at 4-6 p.m. at the Athletic Fields parking lot at Grace. Join us for trick-or-treating, music, candy, and fun! And chili!

Help us make Trunk or Treat a fun night by hosting a trunk! Pick a fun, family-friendly theme and register your trunk at the link below. This is a family-friendly event, so we ask that all trunks and costumes not be too scary and they are appropriate for all ages. There are lots of ideas on the internet for trunks or talk with anyone in Children's ministries for ideas. There will be prizes for favorite trunks. Register your family-friendly trunk HERE.

Also, Men's Chili Cook-off returns! If you have a God-given wooden spoon, come and show us what you got! We're looking for the best bowl of chili at Grace. The minimum amount needed is one gallon. You will provide the official chili-tasters (i.e. all of those at Trunk or Treat) with about a tablespoon of your best, and encourage them to vote for your chili! Don't be bashful with the creativity and garnishment! Please contact Aaron with any questions!

Prizes will be given for the best chili! All proceeds will benefit Men's Ministry at Grace. Register HERE.

GOOD NEWS OF THE WEEK

This Sunday we will continue the fall sermon series on Hebrews, focusing on Genesis 14:13-24.

It is Pastor Appreciation Sunday and we will have some different ways to be honor our pastors.

Immediately following worship, there will be a brief Congregational Meeting for all covenant partners to elect elders and deacons, as well as two at-large representatives to the Church Officer Nominating Committee.

THEN following the meeting, the Covenant Partner Course is available for all who are interested in learning more about Grace’s key theological beliefs and the vision, the mission, and the strategy of the church. The course is led by pastors, elders, deacons, and staff and it is our unique way of talking about membership in a congregation. Full details are available HERE.

FINANCIAL UPDATE

As stewards of His gifts, it's important to know where we stand financially as a church. As always, your faithfulness to your pledge and the ministry of Grace and His Kingdom is greatly appreciated. 2024 Collections stretch goal $2,700,000

Actual 2024 collections to date $2,014,581 (as of 9/30/24)

Amount needed prior to year end $685,419

We are 75% through 2024 and have collected 75% of our goal. This puts us $6,730 behind our goal as of September 30, 2024. By comparison, as of this date last year, we had collected $1,819,641.
