Lenten Devotional 2024

Today's Scripture:

Psalm 25:1 In you, LORD my God, I put my trust.

Read: Reflect on a story in your life that pertains to this scripture.
Reagan: We believe in God and that He will help us. Reese: I think about the scripture we have been memorizing that Pastor Julia recently shared. (Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.) It means we shouldn’t just listen to what we want or our own ideas and plans because we don’t know everything like God does. We have to listen and obey Him.

Reflect: What is this scripture telling you during this season?
Reagan: I trust God that my parents will keep me safe, like the first time I tried roller skating and was scared I would fall and hurt myself. Reese: I can trust in the Lord even when things are hard. Like when I get nervous taking a test, I can trust that God is with me and ask Him to help me be calm and focus.

Respond: How is this scripture calling you to respond?
Reagan: Help people when they are hurt. Be a good friend to people when they need one. Make sandwiches for people who are homeless or hungry. Invite people to VBS. Reese: I can trust that God sent the Holy Spirit to be with me and help me in my every day life. He can help me have eyes to see friends and people that need help.
