Today's Scripture:
Matthew 22:37-39
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
Read: Reflect on a story in your life that pertains to this scripture.
I don't know all my neighbors, but my family brings cookies to the new ones. We also go trick-or-treating with our neighbors and share Christmas treats. Neighbors can be our best friends or people we don't know very well. This scripture tells me that we should love all our neighbors because God loves them. We should help them because God helps us.
Reflect: What is this scripture telling you during this season?
This scripture tells me to love my neighbor. I love my neighbors, Shane and Anne, because they are my friends. They are always there for me, like the time Anne helped me during the snowstorm. We built the biggest snowball ever to fend off the dads.
Respond: How is this scripture calling you to respond?
This scripture is telling me to be kind to my neighbors. We should invite them to play, make them cards, help them if they fall down, read them books, take them food, and check on them and their animals.
