Lenten Devotional 2024

Today's Scripture:

Psalm 118:1-2 Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever! Let Israel say, “His steadfast love endures forever.”

Read: Reflect on a story in your life that pertains to this scripture.
I know God’s love lives forever in people’s hearts just like mine. Gods gives me love at hard times. So what I should do is when other people are having hard times, I should make them feel good inside and make them as happy as I was when God helped me with hard times.

Reflect: What is this scripture telling you during this season?
I’m a fifth grader at Rummel Creek Elementary. During my first few years at Rummel Creek, it was tough. I really needed some help on some things that I was struggling with. Over time, I felt God stepping in and helping with hard things. He also put people in my life at my school that could help me learn from my mistakes. As my teachers helped me, life started to be okay. That’s all because of God. I think that I should thank Him for eternity after what He has done for me all day, every day.

Respond: How is this scripture calling you to respond?
When I have hard times, God always steps up for me and helps me. I know that other people may not think that God helps them during the hard times or the sad times. So, what I could do about that would be that I tell them that God is actually with them during those hard times. I want to make people believe that He is with you whenever you want, but you just have to believe He is there with you in those hard and sad times.
